In this free, online 30 minute workshop we will run through the steps you need to take and the key tools you should have in place for your business.

What will the workshop cover?

In this first workshop, we will cover the first steps you need to take and the tools you should have in place. Having the correct foundations can save you a lot of time, effort and money in future.

Starting with the basics, we will cover the following subjects:

1. Registering a domain name

The first step in getting a website, is to have an appropriate domain name registered for it. This should be taken out by yourself under your own details (not via a third party company) so that you have access to make any changes as necessary.

2. Website design

When it comes to a website, there's a lot of options available to you. Depending on the type of business, different solutions will be applicable, for example a brochure or e-commerce website. Understanding your business goals and target audience is key in coming up with a suitable website design.

3. Social Media

Once you have a website in place, you will need to find a way of attracting visitors to the site. Again this can vary depending on your target market, but the vase majority of businesses these days will have at least one social media profile.

4. Email marketing software

How will you communicate with your customers and future prospects? The ideal solution is to have an email marketing/ CRM package so that you can send out regular communications about your upcoming offers, new products/ services and testimonials

5. Analytics

Once you have a website in place and marketing activities have commenced, you need a tool to help you monitor the success of these actions and how your website is performing online. Google Analytics is the ideal solution for this as there is a wide range of data available to help you refine your website
